The Halo Effect: Is Kate Moss smart?

This quote concerns a study that focused on having people choose people's personality or life traits based only off an image of them.

"Participants believed that the attractive individuals would lead happier lives in general, have happier marriages, be better parents, and have more career success than the unattractive or averagely attractive individuals. Also, results showed that attractive people were believed to be more likely to hold secure, prestigious jobs compared to unattractive individual."

We live in a world where people truly believe that if someone is attractive they are essentially successful, this has been deemed "The Halo Effect."

When someone is attractive I believe there is always a moment where I want to think about how life is from their perspective. What are the benefits? Downfalls? We size each other up constantly, that is how we figure out who we are.

To me it remains astounding that someone's entire life might be slanted towards greatness or failure based on their genetics.

In the act of being born, we are judged.
