Mugler Mens RTW 2013

Just saying.

I tend to keep closer tabs on Mugler's creative director Nicola Formichetti than I probably should. But the more work he does, the better he gets.

I know the space suits aren't for everyone, and you have to be muscular to even think about trying it on.

That being said it's nice that people still make clothing that lets us think about what men's fashion could become.

The Halo Effect: Is Kate Moss smart?

Kate Moss on the Cover of Vogue Paris
This quote concerns a study that focused on having people choose people's personality or life traits based only off an image of them.

"Participants believed that the attractive individuals would lead happier lives in general, have happier marriages, be better parents, and have more career success than the unattractive or averagely attractive individuals. Also, results showed that attractive people were believed to be more likely to hold secure, prestigious jobs compared to unattractive individual."

We live in a world where people truly believe that if someone is attractive they are essentially successful, this has been deemed "The Halo Effect."

When someone is attractive I believe there is always a moment where I want to think about how life is from their perspective. What are the benefits? Downfalls? We size each other up constantly, that is how we figure out who we are.

To me it remains astounding that someone's entire life might be slanted towards greatness or failure based on their genetics.

In the act of being born, we are judged.

I want Balenciaga

Anna Dello Russo by Tommy Ton (Milan Fashion Week) - Balenciaga Visor Hat

Lately I have been rather obsessed with Balenciaga's vision of the future. I have found in my searches online that many people have a lot of problems with the brand and I can't seem to find a reason why. Of course I am someone who loves the idea that fashion everyday on the streets can transcend normality and bring people to an alternate world. That's just my type of personality and many would completely disagree.

I also find it interesting that many top designers in the industry don't all follow the same type of belief that fashion should ultimately become art. Many designers I find don't often reflect their brand by what they wear on their own body. There are occasionally some very eclectic fashion editors who I find incredibly inspiring for displaying their work so proudly on their body every day of their lives. But I also understand that fashion is based in intellect, and wearing a smart looking suit is all some people need, because their work speaks for itself.

My question is when you create or participate in fashion, is it expected that you live by your own design?
